“Well behaved women rarely make history.” Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

Mae West was a woman way ahead of her time. She was the first superstar Hollywood sex symbol having arrived on the scene in the 1920's. This legend and cult figure successfully played a character that displayed open sexuality and clever double entendre for nearly 60 years! Famous for her many quotes that have found a place in the pop culture lexicon, they reveal those traits that are a standard for great sex.

“A man can be short and dumpy and getting bald, but if he has fire, women will like him.”

Passion. It's the electrical current that adds the zest to sex. It's often the ingredient that's missing when complaints of boredom are heard.

“Between the two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.”

Novelty. Our brains are wired to accept new experiences. Small differences can mean a lot. Changing positions, time of day, usual location, or even changing the room around can add a little kick that can make a big difference.

“I never loved another person the way I love myself.”

Self-esteem. Self-esteem builds confidence. If you focus on your flaws and allow it to distract you, you'll never relax enough to enjoy sex. The greatest sex appeal you can have it the confidence you exude when you're comfortable in your own skin.

“The best way to hold a man is in your arms.”

Touch. Touch provides the physical connection between two human beings. Sensual touch stimulates the endorphins (brain's feel good neurochemicals) which works much like morphine. What better way to feel good than connecting with your partner? And it's not addicting either!

“Don't keep a man guessing too long-he's sure to find the answer somewhere else.”

Regularity. Making excuses to avoid sex for whatever reason is a relationship killer. Physically connecting with each other on a regular basis builds positive feelings. Them more you have sex, the better you feel.

“Sex is emotion in motion.”

Sex without an emotional connection to your partner is like peanut butter without jelly.

The grand dame of stage and screen provoked the censors with comments and actions like that and many others. She lasted throughout most of the last century due to her timeless comments which continue to prove she was an icon that can still teach us about great sex.
